Dinosauria, We

Born like this
Into this
As the chalk faces smile
As Mrs. Death laughs
As the elevators break
As political landscapes dissolve
As the supermarket bag boy holds a college degree
As the oily fish spit out their oily prey
As the sun is masked
We are
Born like this
Into this
Into these carefully mad wars
Into the sight of broken factory windows of emptiness
Into bars where people no longer speak to each other
Into fist fights that end as shootings and knifings
Born into this
Into hospitals which are so expensive that it's cheaper to die
Into lawyers who charge so much it's cheaper to plead guilty
Into a country where the jails are full and the madhouses closed
Into a place where the masses elevate fools into rich heroes
Born into this
Walking and living through this
Dying because of this
Muted because of this
Castrated
Debauched
Disinherited
Because of this
Fooled by this
Used by this
Pissed on by this
Made crazy and sick by this
Made violent
Made inhuman
By this
The heart is blackened
The fingers reach for the throat
The gun
The knife
The bomb
The fingers reach toward an unresponsive god
The fingers reach for the bottle
The pill
The powder
We are born into this sorrowful deadliness
We are born into a government 60 years in debt
That soon will be unable to even pay the interest on that debt
And the banks will burn
Money will be useless
There will be open and unpunished murder in the street
It will be guns and roving mobs
Land will be useless
Food will become a diminishing return
Nuclear power will be taken over by the many
Explosions will continually shake the earth
Radiated robot men will stalk each other
The rich and the chosen will watch from space platforms
Dante's Inferno will be made to look like a children's playground
The sun will not be seen and it will always be night
Trees will die
All vegetation will die
Radiated men will eat the flesh of radiated men
The sea will be poisoned
The lakes and rivers will vanish
Rain will be the new gold
The rotting bodies of men and animals will stink in the dark wind
The last few survivors will be overtaken by new and hideous diseases
And the space platforms will be destroyed by attrition
The petering out of supplies
The natural effect of general decay
And there will be the most beautiful silence never heard
Born out of that.
The sun still hidden there
Awaiting the next chapter.

CHROME DREAMS

pt 1
pt 2

As a massive Neil Young fan, I feel an obligation to upload this for you. One of the most legendary bootlegs, along with being an amazing collection of his songs, this album was scrapped for whatever reason. The first twelve tracks would be considered the album proper, so consider the rest a bonus.

& it's in .m4a cause that's what I have it in. I could have gone lossless to lossy, but I love you.

ACID MOTHERS GONG - Live in Nagoya

This really is a perfect pairing. Acid Mothers Temple coupled with key-influence/psychedelic overlords GONG. But that's not all! Yoshida Tatsuya is on drums. Do you recognize the name? He's the constant in Ruins. A true legend.

So, I really don't know what to say about this. Even if you are not a fan of Acid Mothers Temple and all their affiliates, I still recommend this. You know as well as I do that the true power of psychedelic rock could lift us out of the mundane blah blah blah download the damn thing, buy it if you get a chance.

Sublime Frequencies Vol 1

Hey, I know that Law & Order marathon seems really appealing right now, but don't worry, I promise to not keep you long. Really, I just need to let the label do the talking;

"An essential collection of unique folk and pop music from the Island of Sumatra, including drone beat pop, jungle folk trance, gypsy hybrid songs, haunting vocal chants, and other beautiful, lost styles, which have yet to be discovered."

"The equator runs through only ten countries on earth and I bet that you cannot name them all without consulting a map. Indonesia is one of them and the only nation in Asia with the equatorial stripe impaling it. There are so many different cultures spread-out on these islands, that it would take several lifetimes to experience them all properly. Within this umbrella of diversity is one of the world's richest and most dazzling sound museums. Sumatra is the northwestern entry point to the great archipelago. It is a large island approximately the size of California. There are jungles, mountains, swamps, various forms of myths and folklore, hustlers, Padang Food, Tigers, the Durian, dozens of cultures and languages, and more music than you've ever been allowed to hear. The selections on this CD are a combination of droning beat pop, pseudo-gypsy songs, jungle folk trance, and other improbable traditional and hybrid styles heard by only a handful of outsiders. These recordings are from old cassette tapes received as gifts, in trade, or purchased from sources in Sumatra in 1989. Some of the tapes are unmarked with the artists unknown, yet all of them are decaying documents of various sound quality containing some of the most eccentric artifacts ever uncovered from this fascinating island."

ok, that's all.

suffering orbach

p.s. this contains the original "Borungku Si Derita" (I suppose), and it's beautiful.

SUN CITY GIRLS - 'BORUNGKU SI DERITA'

Sun City Girls - Borungku Si Derita

I love this band. I also hate them sometimes, but the love definitely outweighs the negative.

"Smile" sounds like early Pink Floyd, and there's a great version of "Esoterica of Abyssynia".

the more common version is a single 7", but those are for pussies,
so this version is the double 7".

actively ambient...

you should get this, if you don't have a copy already.

'geogaddi' - boards of canada

apparently, a lot of listeners find this to be an inherently creepy album. i'd have to agree, with parts. it all depends, since this duo really do evoke different feelings depending on the listener.

headphones are a bonus, & everything flows oh so naturally, like practically everything else from these two.

the links up there, use it.

(holyfuckingshit has a really nice vinyl flac rip, for those who care)

ATHEIST - UNQUESTIONABLE PRESENCE

Atheist - Unquestionable Presence

Yes, it has been a long while. I'll spare you boredom, and instead bestow glorious death metal. If you know me, you know I've been into metal for a while, but death/black/etc has only recently become an acquired taste.

So yes, listen to every Death album, since I had the same birthday as Chuck. Florida is THE place for prime death metal, even though I don't think I'll ever be able to seriously listen to Cannibal Corpse.

it's my favorite death metal album. I'd say right now. But Death really do rule. EVIIIIIIIIIIL..... DEAD!

Roger, the bassist, for Atheist, not Death, was tragically killed prior to recording. Definitely a talented guy, he really did have a panache for sweet-ass bass lines, fulfilled by Tony Choy, also of Cynic. There's a lot of entanglement.

However, it's not a straight death metal album, because, simply, the band's too good. Jazz, whatever, it's only rock and roll. Listen, or don't. You should buy a copy.

and buy a copy of the new Melvins album, or four, & give them to people you don't like.

with yr wrinkled ol pussy i cant be yr loverrrrrrr

(this is the re-issue, which includes really cool demos with Roger on bass, & true bass'n'drum tracks.)

since this is my blog...

this would be the appropriate forum for this, since I feel that everyone who sees this

I can't write enough to explain.

take mushrooms, listen to Bill Hicks.

live life, read books, devour film, culture, all these different forms just to finally say "hey, we actually did care", but when it all comes down to it, we just gaze at our shoes, or lightly tap on keys, nothing to show for it, nothing to stand up for, HOWEVER; we can create. not just life, but art. Life as art, one of the oldest modems known to our kind, but all realize that is key.

to sift the waves;
ride the peaks;
in all the great highs;
all the modern lows;

I don't want to be looked upon as a casualty or anything, just to say that I do serve a purpose, I can express myself in any way I choose, even with all this webbing cut down, no more bullshit.

FUCK! THIS IS A MUSIC BLOG!!!

(mainly)

I don't have anything to post, I'm not in a state to really recommend anything.

I'm listening to Ride's "Nowhere", and it's sounding pretty good right now.

The Fall - Psykick Dance Hall

The Fall - Psykick Dance Hall

Look, I really, really like The Fall. This is a three-disc, 49-track set of the earlier line-up's "spartan, post-punk", whatever, sound. It's Mark E. Smith. Repetition, repetition, repetition. The three R's. The man whose head expanded. Elastic man. That man. MES.

It's probably not the best idea to listen to all of this at once, unless you're truly one of the brave, but definitely give it a chance. Unless you already have a copy, then you can e-mail me and we can be best friends.
